I think I found the cause of the error.

wd1 is a verb calling the jqt.dll.
On my system, its current path includes an accentuated character 
in the user name.

If it is a real requirement, the installation process could check 
if the path has only ASCII characters and refuse the install if not.

I uninstalled and reinstalled in another dir. jqt starts ok.

Now the path of j803-user still has the same non ASCII. 
Will this cause problems down the road?
