There's plenty of good replacements for keyboards focussed on coding and not "helping" the user make errors.
My personal favorite is MessagEase[1], which has a fairly steep learning curve, but will become extremely handy once you get the hang of it. It makes all letters and symbols available with one gesture (swipe or tab) without digging through different sets of keys as is usual with other keyboards. Another notable one is Hacker's keyboard[2] I hope this can reduce your frustrations a bit. For me it did.
