Your early 2009 iMac doesn't have the required avx instructions. 

 I refer you to Eric's message of 4/12 to the beta forum where he responded to 
my similar query. 

I agree with jsoftware's direction of not doubling the number of builds for new 
releases. j is wonderfully stable. The half life of processors continues to 
decrease...
