I had some problems installing jqt, but have finally been successful.
JVERSION
Engine: j807/j64/darwin
Beta-e: commercial/2018-05-25T12:56:46
Library: 8.07.16
Qt IDE: 1.7.1/5.9.5
Platform: Darwin 64
Installer: J807 install
InstallPath: /users/brian/j64-807
Contact: www.jsoftware.com
The nonavx version would not install at all. But I only tried once.
The avx version seems NOT to be able to use the sierra-fix.command app
either before or after the `install'qtide'` was executed. I never received
`the message box '...unidentified developer...' ` so did not initially
execute `sierra-fix.command`, by the way. "el capitan" is older than
"sierra", so I was not surprised to not receive the message box about
sierra.
I finally got an OSX system alert that said something to the effect that my
privacy settings only allow apps from the App Store to be executed. So I
opened `System Preferences...>Security & Privacy>General`. After entering
my system password to unlock the padlock icon I altered `Allow apps
downloaded from:` to Anywhere I was able to open jqt. (So this System
Preferences procedure may be what the workaround sierra-fix.command
normally accomplishes.) I was NOT able to simply click on the `Open Anyway`
button, to accomplish the desired result, and that button remains, *even
now*, annotated with `"jqt" was blocked from opening because it is not from
an identified developer`.
The other distraction was likely due to my extremely slow internet
service, but `Installing Qt library...` took about 5 minutes.
And my first try to `install'qtide'` produced the following error, but
repeating `install'qtide'` worked fine.
Installing JQt binaries...
