Not sure what I am seeing here… I was using JHS. had on IJX window open, and had pulled the old intro to J page (may have been written by Ken?) into a seperate window. Was going through the basics, had coded (and mispelled) the centigrade function, and reached the point where I was to exit J and return, to see that the locals I had defined would disappear (the exercise uses =. for assignments.)
So I left the ijx window (using the Mac’s Safari widow’s red close button) and used History to recall the ijx window. What I got was not a J session, but a non-J display of my session: … centegrade =. 3 : 0 t1 =. y - 32 t2 =. t1 * 5 y3 =. t2 % 9 ) centegrade 32 0 centigrade _40 |value error: centigrade | centigrade _40 centegrade _40 _40 centegrade 212 100 get file does not exist: apple-touch-icon-precomposed.png *** response not sent for apple-touch-icon-precomposed.png *** html409 Conflict get file does not exist: apple-touch-icon.png *** response not sent for apple-touch-icon.png *** html409 Conflict get file does not exist: apple-touch-icon-precomposed.png … I then asked Safari to load the original URL and was returned to the original ijx page, with the above errors now shown, but with all my original local definitions still preserved, as shown by names ‘’: get file does not exist: apple-touch-icon-precomposed.png *** response not sent for apple-touch-icon-precomposed.png *** html409 Conflict get file does not exist: apple-touch-icon.png *** response not sent for apple-touch-icon.png *** html409 Conflict names '' centegrade dbjump float imagine int jd3x nums plus times Not sure if that is a good or bad thing, but it (as with much else Jish) confused be. ?? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
