This is a pretty esoteric issue which I think explains why although it has
existed as far back as j805 from my investigations it still exists in j903. Not
sure how far up the priority list it will be, but I thought you should know

       (54 ;<<<0 );(s:<7 u:3101);s:< 9 u:128512 NB. symbols displayed as
expected
┌──────────┬────┬─────┐
│┌──┬─────┐│`ఝ│`😀│
││54│┌───┐││ │ │
││ ││┌─┐│││ │ │
││ │││0││││ │ │
││ ││└─┘│││ │ │
││ │└───┘││ │ │
│└──┴─────┘│ │ │
└──────────┴────┴─────┘

      (54 ;<<<9 u: 48 );(s:<7 u:3101);s:< 9 u:128512 NB. Unicode4 in separate
box
┌──────────┬────┬─────┐
│┌──┬─────┐│`ఝ│`😀│
││54│┌───┐││ │ │
││ ││┌─┐│││ │ │
││ │││0││││ │ │
││ ││└─┘│││ │ │
││ │└───┘││ │ │
│└──┴─────┘│ │ │
└──────────┴────┴─────┘
    (54 ;<<<7 u: 48 );(s:<7 u:3101);s:< 9 u:128512 NB. Unicode in separate box
┌──────────┬────┬─────┐
│┌──┬─────┐│`ఝ│`😀│
││54│┌───┐││ │ │
││ ││┌─┐│││ │ │
││ │││0││││ │ │

││ │└───┘││ │ │
│└──┴─────┘│ │ │
└──────────┴────┴─────┘

(54 ;<<<7 u: 48 );(s:<'alpha') NB. symbols using literals do not seem to be
affected.
┌──────────┬──────┐
│┌──┬─────┐│`alpha│
││54│┌───┐││ │
││ ││┌─┐│││ │
││ │││0││││ │
││ ││└─┘│││ │
││ │└───┘││ │
│└──┴─────┘│ │
└──────────┴──────┘

This seems to affect only the display

    1{:: (54 ;<<<7 u: 48 );s:< 9 u:128512
`😀

Cheers, bob
