239 187 191 is the bom for utf8, I guess Henry Rich prepared the text usingwindow XP's notepad. You may try open the file using a non-unicode aware editor and remove the bom and save it. or something like
(<'newcard.txt') 1!:2~ 3}. 1!:1 <'card.txt'
