Check install.txt if you have not already done so.
....> java -version
should report 1.4.2 or later java - if not you have a java problem
As you don't have the install in ~/j601 you need to edit jw as well as
fiddle with JPATHj601. Might be best to get it working in a standard install
before moving it.
I don't think there was a J linux release as early as b. Do you mean i? If
not you should proably move to the latest beta. If you wait a day or two
there will be a j beta for linux and it would be best to pick it up when it
comes out.

Subject: [Jbeta] Java frontend issue.
Running jw causes this:
===
jtrmachine% jw
Exception in thread "main" java.util.zip.ZipException: No such file or
directory
at java.util.zip.ZipFile.open(Native Method)
at java.util.zip.ZipFile.<init>(ZipFile.java:112)
at java.util.jar.JarFile.<init>(JarFile.java:127)
at java.util.jar.JarFile.<init>(JarFile.java:65)
===
I have j601b installed into /opt/j601.
And $JPATHj601= /opt/j601.
What is wrong? My java installation maybe (it always works not as good
in linux)?
