On my winXP the Unicode demos work fine out of the box - even without the
Arial Unicode MS font that I had to download here
http://www.lightworker.com/Download/Fonts/   since MS took it off their
server.

Trying lot's of different fonts didn't correct the typos though...  :-)

In the simple Unicode demo the string should be
s_weather=: 'Vackert väder i dag.'
t_problem=: 'Das ist kein Problem.'
t_weather=: 'Gutes Wetter heute.'
t_nice=: 'Das Lied ist gut!'

But then you miss the point of showing "üäößÜÄÖ"
