I checked the values of these global parameters, but they
were the same in both cases. It turns out that the problem
was related to the following lines:
SEED=:101
9!:1[SEED
not appearing in the earlier beta for the "triangles" example
(which also caused the other movement keys not to function properly).
Anyhow, the latest beta works fine. Thanks.

"Triangles" was however exceptional among the OpenGL examples. None of
the other examples were as fast in previous betas.

Movement speed using the opengl utils (as in the demo) depends on two
globals: GS_SPEED and GS_UNITROT. Change these to speed up or slow down
the demos, or press the F1-F9 function keys. The more recent betas have
more appropriate settings for these values.
