Yes, good point. A save as can give the ijx a normal (not numbered) name and ctrl+s will do the save. Some mechanism would have to be added at the system level to allow automatic saves. Currently my opinion is that this isn't warranted.

crash experiences, although it probably conditioned on Ctrl+R.

As you point out it is easy to save the ijx file by a manual step. One could
easily provide a function key shortcut that did this.

How would that be different from Ctrl+S on an ijx window?
