I also find gerund case for amend (and u^:) adverb confusing and
counterintuitive.
What would be enlightening and intuitive if 3 term gerund applied adverb
dyadically (since there are 3 things to apply to) and 2 term gerund applied
adverb monadically. The verbs in gerund, in turn, would be applied
monadically or diadicaly depending on the valence of entire gerund-adverb
phrase. This applies to both } and u^:
