You could use isigraph and glpixels, which gets the same result.
How easier than that can it get?

NB. =========================================================
require 'gl2 bmp'
coinsert 'jgl2'

F=: 0 : 0
pc f;
xywh 134 70 44 12;cc ok button;cn "OK";
xywh 13 12 64 64;cc g isigraph;
pas 6 6;pcenter;
rem form end;
)

glbmp=: glpixels_jgl2_@(0 0,$,,)@[EMAIL PROTECTED]

f_run=: 3 : 0
  wd F
  glbmp '~system/examples/data/j.bmp'
  wd 'pshow;'
)

f_close=: wd bind 'pclose'

f_run''
