As far as I can tell profile.ijs and profilex_template.ijs are in the latest linux sh install. They are in the J bin folder. Please check and confirm if you have a problem.

I realize that Mac drag and drop does a replace. This means Mac users will have to tuck their profilex.ijs away so they can restore it as required. Note that although repeated release updates one on top of the other is common during the beta cycle it is relatively uncommon with a production release.

The cbeta is available. See the web site beta page.

The cbeta does not include a new JE or Library.

It tries to address all of the installation issues. With luck this is nearly the final version for isntallation issues.

Related to installation, please take a look at lab - Application Distribution - Installer as it has improved and reflects the new J installations.

Looks pretty good - but I have two issues. One is that the
new profile.ijs and profilex_template.ijs seem not to have
made it into j602cbeta_linux32.sh

On a similar/related note, the idea of leaving old documents
in place during an install (e.g. profilex.ijs) is a good one,
but doesn't work in the case of OS X install were the process
is to drop the j602 folder into where the old one was - which
does remove/replace everything in the existing folder. I think
if you want to be fancier, you are into install scripts, and
that, IMHO, isn't worth the gain - but a warning is in order.

One other quibble. The help files still say J601 on the front
page. Great improvement over the past!! Thanks!
