This seems a normal consequence of scripts opened readonly. Is it not a
reasonable to assume the reader knows to make a readonly script editable
before doing editing? I suspect this problem runs throughout the labs and
various docs and don't think we need to add a sentence about 'you may have
to make it editable before doing editing'. Am I missing something here?

This lab is affected by the change to open scripts as read-only by
default.
The initial gl2lab.ijs script that is opened by the lab is not available
for edits (or doesn't display them) so that, for example, the initial
definition of gl2lab_g_paint can not be updated by step 4 of 44.
