I think that you or anyone else can build an ide for j using this
xcode or eclipse because the gtk ide is also built from scratch
without any special support from j engine.  You can browse the source
code of gtk ide when it becomes available and port it to mac by
yourself.  With sufficient help from j community we could have j gui
support for gtk, cocoa, java, ncurses, ...
