You have to think in terms of a browser and pages. Your actions are bringing up a new page, just as if you linked to another page at a web site.
For casual, simple use you can just use the 1 browser window and flit between pages. But you can also use multiple windows to get a bit closer to an application IDE feel. For example, open a few tabs and put an ijx window in one tab and your ijs window in another. Edit in the ijs window, click run, and click the ijx tab. Or start another copy of the browser and have your ijx and ijs windows in different forms so you can see both at once.
