I think the links under the input box are a definite improvement and work quite
well.
Some suggestions:
== The jopn page ==
* Keep the [select] button if need be, but enable Double-click or Enter on a
selected file/folder to also fire [select].
* List the files/dirs available in the current directory in listbox (say 7
lines or so?) rather than dropdown
* As previously suggested by Oleg, replace the [..] button with a ".." item at
the top of the listbox.
* Change [new name] to [rename to]
* Add [copy to] (especially as there is currently no option for save as)
* Add listbox (not dropdown) for displaying a collection of directories/files.
The collection displayed in the listbox is determined by the user choice (e.g.
radio-buttons). Options could include SYSTEMFOLDERS_j_, USERFOLDERS_j_,
Recently opened files.
* Maybe this page is trying to do too much?
It could be split up into 3 separate pages (or the same page with different
labels/actions depending on how it is called):
- New (create new text files and directories)
- Open (open text files)
- Manage (delete, copy, rename).
== The jijx page ==
* make the "up" and "dn" links buttons (they are not destinations) and move
them left/right/above the links.
* standardize the location and content of the link menu at the bottom of the
page for all windows (jijx, ijs, jopn, help) e.g: "Session" "New Script"
"File..."
* The standard menu for the bottom of the pages might then look like this:
session_ |FILES: newijs_ new_ open_ manage_ |TOOLS: jal_ projman_ | help_
Where:
somename_ is a link
| is a separator
Buttons would also be available but would be page dependent and might be on a
separate line to the links.
== The ijs page ==
* Add [Cancel], or replace the {"Unsaved changes" [Ok]} dialog with {"Do you
want to save changes?" [Yes] [No]}
* Keyboard shortcuts are going to be problematic (Ctrl+Shift+s is bound to
Xmarks on my browser)
