I think that only the 2nd point is Win7 specific? I'm happy to help (especially with testing), but am not familiar enough with Gtk or the IDE code base to be able to do this easily/quickly and don't have the time to commit (for the next 2-3 weeks anyway) to become familiar. Sorry! :(
