Two comments about the update process:

(1)  Not remembering that the jal link at the bottom of the jijx page 
took me to the right place to do updates, I went to the Help page. But 
there's nothing on the latter telling how to do updates.  Perhaps there 
should be.

(2) In this one instance, of course, I knew which add-on to update. But 
in general, it is unintuitive and inconvenient to figure out which ones 
need updating when Status reveals there is one or more such: you have to 
read through the entire list and examine carefully the version numbers 
of the installed and latest version -- not made any easier to do by 
their being run-on with no intervening punctuation other than a space. 
The format used in the J602 Package Manager is _much_ quicker and easier 
to use.
