Hi Mr. Burke- I did a complete re-install of j701 from the latest DMG. OSX 10.6.6, Macbook4,1. I was able to do the install of the GTK IDE without any problems from start to finish. (I did elect to install only certain parts of JAL, as opposed to 'all'.) For me, jgtk701.app loads the IDE, so provisionally, you might want to delete the "shortcut not working" item from the Notes. The biggest niggle for me was a lack of progress reporting when downloading the GTK library: > azonips:~$ /Users/cturner/Applications/j701/bin/jconsole ; exit; > install 'gtkide' > Updating server catalog... Here with Verizon DSL, it's not a brief wait, far longer than a server catalog update. Also, completion is simply indicated by placing the cursor on another indented line. Took me a while realize the download was finished, and I've been through this drill a few times now. Best wishes, Charles ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
