1. Re: Error with multiple replace in HBS (Eric Iverson)

Eric

Thanks for the note.
That seems to have fixed my problem.

When the jdemo1a page is first loaded the jev_get verb is called which in
turn calls create. But you have modified create to require an argument with
2 elements.

I haven't tested but you need to do something like:

jev_get=: 3 : 0
create 'first';'second'
)

When I do

names_z_''

in the GTK Term window, the Term window text display is changed from blue
normal letters to gray italic letters after the word UNAME. The Term window

stays this way until I do a View->Clear Terminal.

That's because JGTK recognizes the cover name "Note", which is used for
multiline comments, so the editor uses the comment color until it sees a
close paren on a line all by itself.

Not sure if I understand your question. 16bd8{a. is an illegal utf8
character and J session cannot display it. J5 does not use utf8 for that
matter.

J is not intelligent enough to utilize smb:// , I think neither can you type
in terminal such command as
$ ls smb://....

It was not a question, just an information, that i have forgot,
for a FAQ or a known problems.
J data or .ijs can come from editors or old versions or old files, like for
me
I have checked: international characters on the IPAQ keyboard, one key
to select, another to have hexaD8 and others which don't perturb
jconsole and stop jgtk a week later.

there was a question for local network:
is it a way to read ( and write) a smb://file on the network with J
or must it be transferred with the system tools to a temp reachable
directory?

  Still catching up!

I've just discovered what "favicons" are and find that the J one
(whether blue or not) does not appear in Google Chrome, my
preferred browser. At least, it is not displayed just to the left of
http://127.0.0.1:65001/jijx, although the blue icon is shown
beside Jijx in the tab label.

My version of Chrome (8) said it was up-to-date; it's running
under Windows Vista. I've now downloaded the Beta version
(Chrome 9.0.597.67) with the same non-appearance of this icon.

The favicon does appear where expected in my versions of
Firefox, 3.5.7, and Internet Explorer, 8.

Thanks

Mike

About labs in general under J701 using JHS, rather
than issues with plot.

Is there any intention to implement the accelerator
key for labs under jhs? Or has this been done
already?

The lab-advance accelerator used to be ctrl-J in J602,
whereas the menu suggests something-a in j701, but
I haven't yet discovered any key combination which
works.

This seems to be true on my Windows Vista machine,
whether I'm using Firefox 3.5, IE 8, or Google Chrome
8 or 9 (beta).

Sorry if this has already been covered or is plain
obvious to everyone else.

Thanks again

Mike
