In an institutional context (for example, a school environment), you can easily have one person changing settings on another person's behalf. You can also have situations where the person that changed the settings is no longer available. If you do not want to clutter the code with detailed error diagnostics, you might form the code number and other relevant information (like, the os type) into maybe a #anchor for a jwiki url? Granted, giving a (possibly uninformative) url for a browser invocation error will likely be suboptimal, but giving no error diagnostics whatsoever seems, to me, to be worse. -- Raul ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
