I can now report, after updating to 1.2 1.10, that my files were preserved over 
the installation - both inside and outside the j folder. 

I'm still hoping to have a way for my profile to be loaded on a fresh start. 

Another wish is a way to save an alias to create an "application" similar to 
storing a browser bookmark on the home screen.
