Actually the db is on Linux but I was hoping there might be an easier way than installing SQlite: the Linux box is low power, headless and GUI-less - but I can do Excel on my XP machine!
I really don't know whether it can get any easier than that line. SlimServer does not contain any export functionality. But you could of course use slimserver's CLI - if you think this is easier... And as long as Excel can't read sqlite files you'll have to take an andditional step.
And don't worry about your machine's specs: sqlite is really lite! It weighs not even 500kb. And my P/200 took a fraction of a second to execute the command I gave you with about 6300 songs in a little more than 500 albums. And this machine is about lowest power I could imagine...
The other thing is that I really need to know what Slimserver THINKS my albums are, rather than what SQLite says.
