Personally I can't figure out why people are queuing up to encode their
audio in a closed propriatry format like WMA.

The only reason I'm interested in it is for streaming Internet radio.

If you really want WMA, you can always download the Windows media
encoder from
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/encoder/default.aspx
and convert WAV files to WMA VBR at a very high quality setting like
440kbs/44khz/24bit.

Okay it's not lossless but it should be very high quality.
