Hi, I removed the SlimScrobbler and LastFM plugins and that wasn't it, I did also remove the ItunesUpdate plugin and the problem went away, it seemed after the first track had finished Itunes would launch and then the Perl process would use all available processor power. I tried upgrading to the latest version of the iTunesUpdate but to no avail, I will post this into the plugins group.
