I may be naive, but wouldn't it be possible to support different port numbers for the stream than the HTTP interface? This way, you would only allow the stream ports through your firewall and block any HTTP requests. The biggest downside to this, of course, is anyone listening has no control over the music they're listening to, like a radio station.
