I just purchased a new Intel based Mac Mini as a graduation present for a friend's son. Since Im completely Mac-ignorant, I thought I would kick the tires on it a bit and educate myself.
I got v 6.5b1 from today's nightlies installed, no problem. I'm currently playing some of my whole album flacs via softsqueeze from an external (NTFS formatted!) hard disk. This all couldn't have been easier or more straight forward. My congratulations to all our plucky coders for making slimserver so @#$% good. One quick question: since I'm working with "whole-album" flacs, the system is doing flac to flac transcoding. I notice, using the mac Activity Monitor utility, that the running flac processes are identified as "PowerPC" rather than native Intel processes. I assume that this means that the flac modules were compiled for PowerPC processors and are running under emulation. I'm noticing a little bit of drop-out behavior that I assume would go away with a Intel compiled flac. I did a little poking around on the internets and didn't find a native Intel compiled flac for OSX. Anyone have an idea where I could find one or when one will be bundled into slimserver 6.5? -- gharris999 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=21969 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta
