Please find the log file attached. It includes trying to start LastFM,
shutdown, restart. Sometimes the shutdown happens as soon as I start
LastFM, sometimes it will play a little bit of a track first. The end
has the result of the d_protocol log, one iteration of playing and
shutdown. It doesn't seem to add anything until the reset and network
discovery happen.
A few things I notice that are odd:
- One of the times I tried to play from LastFM it sent me a corrupt tag,
which it keeps trying to log.
- It keeps trying to log MP3s I played this morning, which I verified
were received by LastFM this morning when I played them. And it says
it's Adding them to the "station list". Is that correct? Should it be
"Noting new track"?
- Up at the top it says it has a problem with my username, but it's
definitely correct and I do sometimes get the beginnings of tracks, so
it's understanding something. I also have a valid neighbour radio channel.
- After the SB resets itself, the web interface progress bar continues
as though the track is still playing.
Hardware: P3/667, 256 MB
OS: Mandriva 2006.0 (runs as a dedicated music server, no other apps)
6.5b1 version: 6554
mplayer build info: I don't know how to get this info. Can you advise?
Incidentally, MusicMagic seems to REALLY slow my server down to the
point of remote control button presses taking several seconds and MP3
playback has frequent skips, about every 10 seconds. Am I overtaxing my
system? It works well with AlienBBC and the real-time transcoding,
which I would think is much more processor and memory intensive than
MusicMatch, but maybe I'm mistaken.

Ok this is quite another problem so we'll need to spend some time
investigating. From your comment this bug happens 100% of the time not
intermittently?
There are 2 traces that will help, if you start slimserver with the
plugin debug (perl slimserver.pl --d_plugins) and recreate the problem,
separately can you do the same with the --d_protocol option (this will
be quite verbose).
I've never seen this problem before and since it can bring down your
squeezebox it's probably related to the protocol rather than the
plugin, although there may be strange interactions going on.
This is also likely to be tied to your hardware/software so can you let
us know:
Hardware (PC type etc)
OS (linux flavour & version)
6.5b1 version (ie the last update from when you synchronised to the
HEAD revision)
