Thanks for the fix, scan finished with no problems.  I do have a couple
questions/observations.

I've checked in a fix as change 6805 - please update and let me know if that
fixes it.

1. The perl version seems to be much more responsive than the native
Windows one, not sure why, but I like it!

We've heard reports of that, but there shouldn't be any reason for it.

2. Should I remove my edits to the Wiki having a user check for the
existance of a Cache folder and create it if it doesn't exist.  Or
rather will your fix resolve that issue so that new installs of perl
ver on windows won't crap out if Cache folder doesn't exist?

Yeah - that's a symptom of this bug.

Just curious what it's doing for that last 15min?

It does identification of Various Artists albums, checks for artwork, and
might do a check for stale entries in the DB. I've started optimizing this in
the split-scanner branch, which makes it much easier to do complex queries
against the DB for just the data we want, rather than looping over everything.
