For the last day I have had trouble playing internet radio streams. I've seen
the following quite a bit:
2006-04-10 19:58:03.6869 ERROR: AsyncHTTP: Couldn't resolve IP address
for: shoutcast.com
2006-04-10 19:59:14.6979 ERROR: playmode: Couldn't gotoNext song on
playlist, stopping
specifically with LastFM and PublicRadioFan, but I guess it was any remote
stream. Some shoutcast streams played when I kept trying.
I have been downloading some large files, so slimserver has probably been
battling for bandwidth. I can understand that this could cause streams to not
work, however, I found that whenever I tried LastFM in particular, it would
lock up the SqueezeBox (which would require a complete power cycle to recover).
I have rebooted my server and all streams now seem to play fine, including
LastFM. But I'm wondering if there is something wrong with the SqueezeBox
firmware (I'm currently on FW28 due to problems with music stuttering) or
SlimServer, which causes lockups if the stream/address resolution fails.
