At present you will see two things:

1) If the server is busy or the network is congested, scrolling will
appear to freeze and then skip ahead.  This is because the scrolling
software attempts to send screens at regular instances in time (as this
makes it look smoothest).   If the network is congested then it doesn't
send anything at those instances in time.

2) If the server to player connection drops and restarts then the
display is restarted.  In this case scrolling would restart from
scratch - so you see the pause interval etc.  Can't really stop this
happening on a network reconnect.  There were cases when this happened
at other times though and this is what the discussion higher up this
thread was about - this should be fixed in at least 6.5 now.  [I don't
think the fix made it into 6.2]
