I finally got my WPA key reentered. What an ordeal, with all crashes. The original problem of not being able to get to the step for selecting DHCP or enter an IP address is either fixed in firmware 48, or as Dean suggested, I may have just been heavy handed in laying on the right-arrow button.
Am I mistaken about the cursor positioning while entering text? Shouldn't the cursor move to the next position after some period of time? For a randomly generated password it's amazing how many sequential character pairs lie on the same button on the keypad. A couple other suggestions - I'll file enhancement requests for these shortly: Is there any chance of using a fixed width font for at least the password entry? When a long password is entered and the screen scrolls to the right, it constantly shifts back and forth as you cycle through different characters, making reading the display and ultimately entering the character itself very difficult. This is especially true when entering a special character. Since the characters vary significantly in width, the display is all over the place while you're trying to see which character you're entering. Instead of cycling through the ASCII character set with the up and down arrows, make these cycle through the characters in the same order as the characters for the last character button pressed. Particularly with the special character key, if you overshoot a character, pressing the down arrow _sometimes_ will take you back to it. If you used the arrows to only cycle through the characters on that key then you wouldn't have to worry so much about overshooting a character and entering these special characters would be much easier. -- JJZolx Jim ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23323 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta
