Indeed, it's fixed:
dbsource:
dbi:mysql:database=slimserver-trunk:mysql_socket=/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
The command:
mysql_config --socket
...returns the socket location for a given mysql installation.
Whether or not slimserver should add this to the dbsource line
automatically is a matter for conjecture.
