I'm not sure I follow your reasoning here. The 6.3 nightly builds contain fixes for any bugs found in the 6.2.2 release. Whereas the 6.5 nightly builds contain all the latest development, and are likely to be unstable. So the "many custmers who aren't interested in being beta testers" can simply download the latest 6.3 nightly to get all the latest bug fixes. As soon as Richard is happy with the new firmware, I'm sure it'll be added to both the 6.3 and 6.5 branches. Which means it'll be available for everyone, not only beta testers. What makes you think "it won't/can't be fixed until 6.3 is released"??
