Event Viewer can be found in Start->Settings->Control Panel->Administrative Tools or a quicker way to start it is
Start->Run, type eventvwr into the dialog box which appears and hit okay. The Event log entries are arranged into 3 categories. Application, Security & System. Windows normally writes to the System event log.
