I have the same problem with 6.5 since the MySQL changes and I have raised bug 3574 for it. I find a very small number of tracks do play but have been unable to detect a reason for this. I haven't found any debug options that indicate what the problem is either!
6.2 and pre-MySQL 6.5 are still working fine. I'm on XP, music scanned from itunes, mp3s & aacs. Very annoying...
