There are some caveats: 1. Scanning hasn't picked up my WMA files. Dan believes this is fixed now, but due to a recent scanning issue preventing music from scanning through shortcuts (Dan is fixing now), I haven't been able to test. 2. Various Artists detection hasn't been great. 3. Can't always drill down through heirarchy correctly - this is improving every day though. Eg. Browse Artists -> [artist] -> No Album -> lists all songs with no album tag (not just the artist you select). 4. Some plugins don't function correctly; most report warnings about their use of depricated methods. LastFM doesn't report song info (but with a bit of effort you can get it to play streams). Lazy Search doesn't work. >Also, assuming you're running the SVN trunk, do you need to provide >your own MySQL back-end. And if so, can that be 5.1 or does it still >need to be 4.x? > You can either allow SlimServer to create its own MySQL instance, or follow the Wiki instructions to create your own. I am running my own instance, although I'm not sure slimserver updates the schema, so to be sure I sometimes delete the database and recreate. I think it requires v5.1 or greater.
