I am getting this too; mostly on iTunes labelled 'Compilation' CDs. Some are spilt into a seperate Album for each track; some have a random selection (say 1 - 3) of non-contiguous tracks on 3 - 6 eponymously named albums. Not pretty and somewhat annoying. There seems to be no discernable logic as to whether it occurs and - if so - how the split is formed.
I am now on 6.5b Nightly build from 1 Aug; on Win XP. Neil "Phil Meyer" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote in message news:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To my dismay, bug 3854 has been closed as "works for me". I raised that bug because I posted several messages here about problems with various artists functionality, and got no response, so I thought I'd better file a bug so it isn't lost. I still have an unuseable list of various artist albums. The current SVN seems to be riddled with VA/scanning problems to me - everything was looking pretty good a few days ago. I suspect it went wrong when the transporter branch was merged. I am stuck between two problems: 1) Do a full rescan, and "various artists" link is missing. Navigate to any various artist album and slimserver reports 0 songs for that album. 2) Do a "look for new and changed files" causes the "various artists" link to be visible, but I end up with the tracks split across multiple instances of the album names. I notice a similar looking thread from Patrick Dixon - did that ever get resolved?
