I was thinking of something that still uses the Now Playing screen, eg. so it
will still use the same selected title format, but instead of having repeated
presses of Now Playing button loop round the different Now Playing options,
various options could be selected/deselected which would behind the scenes
select the desired Now Playling option. eg:
options for:
Visualisation: Nothing / Small VU / Small Spectrum / Spectrum
Time: None / Elapsed / Remaining / Buffer Fullness
I thought MusicInfoSCR was more about selecting components for each part of the
now playing screen. I'm not sure how this would fit in with the simple options
for selecting the display parts, as you can configure yours to appear anywhere
- eg. if a user decides to display both Elapsed and Remaining time, the option
to switch between the two doesn't make sense!
However, as I would like to add a CURRTIME option to my Time option above (and
possibly Track/Album/Playlist time elapsed/remaining), I guess it's not going
to be possible as a simple enhancement over the SlimServer Now Playing screen.
I also frequently use Album and Biography plugins if I have my PDA to hand, but
don't with the player UI as its too much of a chore to go poking into the menu
to invoke them. As they are related to what is now playing, I thought I could
add some menu to invoke those as display formats too.
If you think these ideas fit into MusicInfoSCR, then I guess it would be best
to patch that.
Thanks,
Phil
