It hadn't installed as a service, so I got it going by manually running "slim.exe -install" then "net start slimserver". I also had to close slimtray, possibly as it was getting in the way by trying to start it already.
My guess as to what went wrong here is that I didn't select the option to run the slimserver service automatically. Rather than install the service but leave it at manual startup, I suspect the installer chose not to install it at all! -- max.spicer What do we want? Smoother Analog VU with FLAC!
