Case in point: I have mp3s that are tagged, minimally by intent, without genre or year. With 6.3.1, these mp3s showed up without genre or year. With 6.5b1, these mp3s show up with a genre and a year. When I check them in any number of taggers, no/ blank genre or year. When I remove the tag, and then recreate it from the filename only, they still show up with a genre and a year. Of course when I bring them back into 6.3.1, they mp3s show up without genre or year. So, where is this alternate tagging info coming from in the files, and why does 6.5b1 see it, but neither 6.3.1 nor tagging software does?
