I seems I'm not the only person who had the JLaer problem. I found I could fix the issue if I un-installed & deleted all older versions of Java 5 and installed patch 9, then downloaded and re-installed the MP3 plugin, so that it existed in old 1 ext\lib dir.
But it was a bit of a trial & error excercise. Has Softsqueeze 3.2 improved the audio glitch at begining of tracks bug the re-surfaced recently? http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2346 BTW Sun's web-site seem to have different versions of Java all over the place. The auto update version reported that there was no newer version than patch 8 available. But found patch 9 on the Sun web-site and my laptop in work has patch 10 installed, I think.
