As of 6.5, when playing Internet content, the Squeezebox directly connects to the Internet stream. SS merely provides the screen and responds to the IR commands. As you state, you can shut if off - the screen will go blank but the stream will keep playing. Not sure where the buffer value comes into all this. Regarding buffer size in comparison to the SB, foobar's default buffer size is 256 KB. The SB3 buffer is 25 Mb (mega BIT) = 3.125 MB, many times larger than foobar's default setting. How far it reads ahead into the stream I don't know. If it filled it up before playback you'd be waiting several minutes until it started playing! -- Mark Lanctot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mark Lanctot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2071 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=29287 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta
