I agree.  This would be a nice addition and it's been discussed before.
The newest version of the scanner should allow this, but the user
interface in the web ui hasn't been implemented yet.  The current
Browse Music Folder isn't quite the same, as you need to actually
navigate into each folder before SlimServer picks up the new/changed
files.  A nice interface would be to use Browse Music Folder to
navigate the folder structure (without the slowness caused by it
actively looking for changes) and present an icon/link to manually
"scan" at any given juncture.  It would make BMF faster and would give
the ability to scan a branch of the folder tree instead of one folder
at a time.

SlimServer would still need to scan the music files in order to pick up
things like header offsets and bitrates, so it would probably be of
limited value.
