fwiw, rolled back to WMP 10 on home and work machines. Work: did a complete wipe and re-install of 6.5.1. It will still only start manually.
Home: 6.5.1 previously started OK, but could not access internet radio or RSS feeds (but could access squeezenetwork) (I had installed proxy server location since it would not run at all without it) Did not do a fresh install, but after computer restart slimserver will now not start automatically, and of course all other problems remain. might still try a fresh install. AVG antivirus, typical windows sp2 firewall.
