I have not been able to replicate failure to transition in a controlled
context at all. It seems observation of the problem suppresses the
problem. Since you are able to generate the fault fairly consistently,
I'm hopeful that you can provide some more details.

I believe that since you are running MySQL, and not using the
slimdevices supplied mysqld, you are kind of on your own (at least
officially). I'm sure the developers are interested in what's being
said here, but they really can't do much about it until something
points the way toward a part of the system that they can look at. We
are kind of responsible for finding that way. That's an aspect of the
open source, forum based, beta version support pattern. If you don't
like the way something works, or need something to work differently,
there are loads of people that might help you, but *you* need to do the
leg work to tell them where you would like to go. In this case, we need
a consistently reproducible test case.

I have not attached my mp3 file to the bug report because it seems to
break softsqueeze and may do nothing to a SQB3. I need to do more
testing, and I am in transit. The slimdevices folks are busy with many
other, more tangible, issues. We benefit from them focusing their
attention on things that can be implemented or fixed. In the case of
this transition failure, we could have 30 people staring at the code
for days, and without a reproducible test case, nothing would change.

Please let us know if you are able to generate the transition failure
using a crossover cable connected directly to the slimserver (using
static IP addresses).
