My slimserver crashed today (repeatable) whilst trying to transition from one track to the next. I use cross-fade, so it crashed with 11 seconds remaining.
It took me a while to figure out what was going on - I run slimserver.pl as a service via srvany. When it crashed, I tried to stop the service and restart it, but the slimserver log reported that slimserver was already running. Using Process Explorer, I couldn't see any slimserver process, eg. perl.exe or srvany.exe, but I found the following was running: cmd.exe /x/d/c ""P:\Music\SlimServer\trunk\server\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread\mac.exe" "M:\Music\Phil's Music\Downloads\Beatles\Abbey Road\01 - Come Together.ape" - -d | "P:\Music\SlimServer\trunk\server\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread\flac.exe" -cs --totally-silent --compression-level-0 -" I killed this and then I could restart the service. I tried to play the same track transition again, and it all hung up 11 seconds before the end, just as before. I tried to run this in a cmd window, at which point I got a firewall popup requesting access for Explorer.exe to run mac.exe. I never got this when slimserver was running, so perhaps there's some socketwrapper issue again?
