I had 2 PCs. One was running SS 6.5.x and the other was running SS7. I had both of them pointing to the same directly where all my music is kept. That means to switch between the 2 all I had to do was tell the Trasnporter or Squeezbox which IP address to use for the server (in my case 192.168.0.3 or 192.168.0.4). This is easy once you realise if you get to the main menu on the player and hold down the left button on the remote it takes you into the network set-up menu then you just press right a few time till you get to the IP address of server page then press up or down to select the PC (and version of SS you want to use). Of course if you use the latest version of SS it will mean updating the formware each time you switch. Using a version more than a few days old will go around this problem.
